Who supplies commercial scent diffusers for hotels, retail stores and offices?

Jason Craft supplies waterless commercial scent diffusers for hotels, retail stores, offices, clinics and building lobbies, in four formats: a cordless tabletop unit for rooms and counters, a wall-mount unit for corridors and reception, a floor unit for lobbies and showrooms, and a flagship floor unit for whole properties and chains. Machines, fragrance oils and packaging can be supplied under your own brand.

*Manufacturer-rated maximum diffusion, based on a ceiling height of about 3 m. It is not the area where scent is clearly noticeable: partitions, air changes and output level decide that. All four run at 20–30 °C and up to 85% relative humidity, so semi-outdoor areas, unconditioned stores and steamy kitchens are out of range.

Planning a space

Place scent like lighting, not like a single machine

Scent fades with distance, so one large unit in a corner leaves the area beside it too strong and the far end empty. We plan points along the guest path instead:

  • Entrance: where the first impression forms and air changes are strongest.
  • Turns in the path: corridor corners, lift lobbies and floor entrances, so the scent does not break.
  • Where people wait: reception, waiting areas and lounges.

Four things change the plan more than floor area: ceiling height, partitions, air conditioning and door traffic, and peak-hour crowds. Floor units have 20 output levels, so output can drop off-peak and rise at peak. The first thing that limits placement is usually power, so mark the sockets on the floor plan with the scent points.

Fragrance oils

Scent matched to the space

The machine sets the coverage; the oil is what guests remember. Fragrance oils are supplied with the machines and can be developed as a signature scent for your brand.

  • Retail: citrus and woods, bright enough to be remembered.
  • Offices: clean green and herbal notes that stay in the background.
  • Hotel lobbies: woody and amber notes that feel settled on arrival.
  • Clinics: light tea notes that do not compete with clinical smells.

Keep one main scent for a season or longer, so guests learn it as the smell of the place. Intermittent output works better than a heavy constant one: noses tire, and people who stay stop noticing a strong scent while new arrivals find it too much.

Refill intervals

For unattended sites and chains, how often someone has to refill a unit often matters more than coverage. Estimated from the rated oil use at eight hours a day:

What we see in real spaces

A basement bank branch

A branch lobby one floor below ground had a damp smell on humid days. Scent cannot dehumidify, but a waterless unit adds no moisture. The lobby is open, while the office corridor behind it is split by glass partitions, so two floor units went in: one by the entrance and one at the end of the corridor, running the same citrus-and-wood oil.

A clinic waiting corridor

One floor unit sits where patients walk from check-in to the consulting rooms. The corridor is carpeted, so waterless output mattered. A light white-tea blend was chosen because it does not fight with clinical smells or read as perfume.

A dance studio

Lighting and layout were designed; the smell was left to chance. One floor unit now stands in the display corner like part of the fit-out, with a bright, non-sweet blend and a calm base, running at 45 dB or less so it does not compete with the music.

Private label and supply

For scent marketing companies, hotel groups, retailers and distributors, existing models can be supplied in your color and finish, with your logo, fragrance oils and packaging. We confirm plug type, voltage and safety listing model by model for each market, check function and output unit by unit before shipment, and include a refill and care sheet for the staff who will look after the machines. MOQ and lead time are confirmed per model when we quote.

For home ultrasonic diffusers, wax warmers, candles and reed diffusers, see Home fragrance.

Our own QC at three points

  1. Incoming materialsRaw materials, components and packaging checked before production starts.
  2. In-process samplingLots sampled on the production line, so problems are caught while they can still be fixed.
  3. Final inspectionEvery order inspected before shipment, with results logged with photos.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a commercial scent diffuser and a home diffuser?

Commercial units are built to run through business hours and push scent through high ceilings, air conditioning and foot traffic. Most use waterless nebulizing: pure fragrance oil is atomized into a fine mist with no water, so they add no humidity near woodwork, carpet or merchandise. Home ultrasonic diffusers mix oil with water and suit small rooms.

How many scent diffusers does a hotel lobby need?

Plan by partitions and traffic flow, not floor area alone. One floor unit can cover a large open lobby, but corridors, glass-partitioned offices and meeting rooms need their own points. Place scent at the entrance, at turns such as lift lobbies, and where guests wait. Ceiling height matters too: a double-height atrium can hold twice the air volume of the rated area.

Can I add water or diluted oil to a waterless diffuser?

No. Waterless units are designed for undiluted fragrance oil only. Water or diluted liquid corrodes the air pump and blocks the nozzle. We include this in the handover instructions, because the people who refill the units are often housekeeping or front-desk staff.

Can commercial scent diffusers be private labeled?

Yes. Existing models can be supplied in your color and finish, with your logo, packaging and fragrance oils. Plug type, voltage and safety listing are confirmed model by model for each market, and MOQ and lead time are confirmed when we quote.

How often do commercial diffusers need refilling?

At a medium output and eight hours a day, a 120 ml tabletop unit lasts about 39 days, a 400 ml wall unit about 62 days and a 1,000 ml floor unit about 38 to 49 days. Busy lobbies usually run higher, so refills come sooner.
